Today started off with a very special event!
Sam Piazza and I learned about the exciting work being done by the Pepin Academies Transition Program thanks to this inspirational Pepin Academies Foundation Workforce Education Breakfast we attended today as guests of the Pepin Academy Foundation Board.
Pepin Academies Transition Program is a comprehensive individualized program of vocationally based training in conjunction with life and job readiness courses, designed for young adults ages 18 to 22 who have an identified learning or learning-related disability.
We got to talk to people about Because of Sam and how inclusion in the workplace is a big theme in the movie.
Sam and his friends are featured in the movie and talk about their jobs and dreams.
Sam works at PDQ, Nick Altieri works at Public Defender Julianne Holt’s Office, and David Scott works at Publix.
We encourage all employers to open their minds and consider being involved in this Pepin Academies Hillsborough program.
Another special note of gratitude is that Pepin Distributing purchased 100 tickets for the “First Look” Screening of Because of Sam at Tampa Theatre in July, to give the parents and faculty of Pepin Academies the opportunity to experience the movie.
